Technical Projects
Project 1: Senior Project that used Agile Technology - The project is the Florida Afterschool Network Quality Assessment Portal. I worked with a group and I used C#, ASP.net, HTML, and jQuery to do my portion of the project. It is a portal where afterschool programs can assess how well they are doing. I used a Kanban board to keep track of the tasks that I need to do. I thought up the user stories that I needed to do. We used SCRUM as the project management protocol, The instructor was the scrum master. Every week, the group mates would discuss any issues that they had. Also, we kept track of the parts of the project that we had completed every month. For my part of the project, I thought up and implemented user stories that are related to the part of the project where the super admin removes, adds, or modifies questions on the survey. Entity Framework was used to update the database. One problem that I had with the Agile Process is that I felt unsure of the group's progress when I only looked at JIRA. The finished product was a prototype for future groups to work on.
Project 2: Another project that I worked on was an Independent study. Firstly, VB in Excel was used to separate the sheets into separate files. Then, I used Python to add 0s to the empty columns that were not needed for processing. Afterward, I used a tool called Orange to predict the reading strategies that the participants of a study were partaking. The metrics that were used were the F1 metric and AUC score.
Project 3: Tic-Tac-Toe Video Game - The project was done using Java. A person played Tic-Tac-Toe against a computer. As for the AI, it would check to see if there is a winning move and play it. Otherwise, the computer would pick a random spot. As for the output of the game, it gives a string of the current board position in an input dialog.
