Main Scrum Master Responsibilities:

  • Build and coach high performing Agile teams
  • Look for ways to strengthen team’s understanding of Agile / Scrum concepts and principles
  • Ensure teams actions are aligned with the project goals / vision
  • Ensure Scrum practices are used and improved within and across teams
  • Bring transparency to Business and IT organization about development and grow trust
  • Identify trade-offs between short and long term benefits to drive shared vision between the team and product owner
  • Lead by example: Do not shy away of any tasks that could help the team. Lead and demonstrate value-add principles to a team
  • Foster a continuous learning environment helping teams to inspect & adapt

Preferred Criteria:

  • Certified Scrum Practioner (CSP) or Certified Scrum Coach (CSC) (not required)
  • Strong communication skills – Able to propagate information promptly, clearly, and unambiguously
  • Team Leadership – Experienced in assessing how the team is doing and drive necessary actions to improve
  • Team Leadership – Able to develop and foster teamwork and facilitate team dynamics
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to coach and mentor team all roles on a Scrum team
  • Ability to deal with complexity and change
  • Skilled in building relationships and navigating through organizations
  • Technical experience working with various technology stacks

Personality:

  • Does not take things personally. Works well with direct/assertive individuals
  • Ability to think outside of the box-“Go Getter” mentality
  • Works well in a team environment. Ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team setting vs. operating independently
  • Ability to be social with team members. Need someone who can interact with team members to build team morale.


Professionally:

  • Scrum Master experience using Rally for 1-2 years (across multiple teams)
  • Ability to effectively manage the Scrum process across 2-3 teams (Experience required 1-2 yrs. for multiple teams)
  • Ability to educate and persuade senior business stakeholders around Agile adoption
  • Flexibility in the Agile and Scrum process. Individual will need to be able to think of options that may not fall in line exactly with Agile. Ex. Agile and Waterfall teams needing to release a product on same date.

Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable about various Agile methodologies and experienced in coaching Scrum teams
  • Experience working in Agile software development settings and teams
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience with Agile and Scrum
