SUMMARY

Technical Lead responsible for the technical solution architecture of the Cloud Transportation Management Systems (TMS) solutions. Advise junior level employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provide TMS implementation experience and technical direction for Business and IT teams during custom development life cycles for the TMS implementation project.
• Work with the business teams to understand the core functional requirements and with the vendor to transform the core functional requirements into standard best practice solutions using modern web technologies.
• Create and maintain internal UML, BMPN, and EPC technical documentation for the TMS implementation system workflows and processes using Visio and Enterprise Architect.
• Provide system performance research, evaluation, and reporting for new and existing software deliverables using APM tools.
• Conduct meetings to gather information for the successful completion of projects that will better meet user needs.
• Assist users by analyzing complex problems and clarifying program objectives.
• Create all necessary documentation for projects assigned.
• Assist with the guidance and training of less experienced personnel.
• Ensure quality by correcting a program's root cause and not the symptom.
• Develop multiple solution options and select best alternative.
• Must perform duties to the standards of the job description and comply with the company's policies, practices, and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for mentoring non-senior programmer/analysts in both the technical, as well as project management/business conduct.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelor Degree
• Minimum 5 years: Transportation industry experience
• Minimum 5 years: TMS or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Technology related role
• Self-motivated and results driven attitude
• Hands on experience and understanding of the latest MercuryGate TMS functionality, Implementation, Configurations, sysconfigs, Dynamic Rule Sets, and Custom Rule Sets.
• Hands on experience with underlying web technology used for the SaaS based applications such as Java .Net, HTML, JavaScript, React, Angular, AJAX, and SQL programming languages.
• Understanding of common TMS and ERP system interface architecture using middleware layer, web services, and APIs including JSON, WSDL, XML, EDI, CSV, and others.
• Independent worker with a desire to produce a quality product and be committed to the quality improvement process.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Excellent comprehension of technical information, configurations, and requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products including Visio
• Best practice and organization standards experience (SOX/COSO/COBIT/ISO)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in computer or information science, preferred; or 4+ years in programming experience; or some combination thereof.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
