Required Qualifications:

• 12 or more year’s professional experience as a Senior Database administrator of one more database technologies of DB2 (LUW and z/OS) /Oracle/Postgres/SQL Server/MongoDB/MySQL/Cassandra/Redis.
• 5 or more years of experience as Senior Database Architect supporting various database technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience.
• In depth knowledge of the various database architecture, including IBM Sailfish (IBM IAS), Oracle RAC.
• Experience of working in a large enterprise, designing solution for Tier-1 applications.
• Experience in determining suitable database platform for each project based on business requirements for data capture and access.
• Experience in developing database solutions by designing proposed system; defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.
• Proven experience in working in a mission critical environment in a multi-terabyte database platforms.
• Experience in evaluating future builds/release of the database platforms, coming with the upgrade strategies.
• Hands on Experience in validating and provides updates to the operations run books and methods and procedures documents used to support the management of the applications environment
• Strong experience with working with tools & platforms within the AWS ecosystem (EC2, S3, Aurora, Lambda, API Gateway, etc)
• Extensive experience designing and executing backup and recovery concepts and procedures. Experience with Data Domain and S3.
• Hands on troubleshooting experience and should be able to support DBA’s to troubleshoot and resolve issues (performance, downtime and system related issues).
• Measure database performance and troubleshoot complex database issues, I/O bottlenecks, hands on SQL Tuning experience.
• Implementation and tuning experience of Databases including knowledge of Schema Design, Query Tuning and Optimization, and Data Migration and Integration.
• Experience in using Splunk, Nimsoft for Availability and performance.
• Good understanding of licensing options and optimization.
• Working knowledge of operating systems such as Windows Server, Unix, Linux, AIX, etc
• Experience in scripting languages (shell or python or Perl) for automating DBA administrative tasks.
• Experience with additional tools Control-M, IBM Guardium.
• Experience in implementing database STIG’s, testing, and other vulnerability remediation.
• Support and assist development team in the testing, tuning and implementation of database applications.
• Experience in working closely with the application development teams to resolve any performance related issues and provide application support.
• Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive.
• Working knowledge of modern software development practices such as agile methodologies and DevOps.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified database administrator in Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2 (LUW/Z), or Oracle. AWS Certifications, e.g., AWS Solutions Architect
• Demonstrated both technical and customer- interaction skills, demonstrating the perception as a "trusted advisor" to customers.
• Architect should be able to facilitate relationships with senior technical executives, as well as easily interact and give guidance to software developers, IT operations staff, and IT IS system architects.
• The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
• IT related experience in the Health Insurance industry.
• Additional experience with non-relational databases, such as columnar data stores, NoSQL, and graph databases would be even better.
• Executive speaking and presentation skills – Formal presentations, white boarding, large and small group presentations.
