Project Managers (PMs) are responsible for the overall direction, management, communication, coordination of status reports, and accountability of project-oriented work efforts and success of their projects across the IT organization. The PM will perform activities related to formal project management methodology (e.g. project scope, project plan, timeliness, milestones, tracking project budget and project resources, etc.). This includes obtaining the cost/size and schedule for the deliverables, tracking status of tasks/milestones in the project plan/work breakdown structure (WBS), and managing issues and risks through completion.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Partner with Business Lead and Technical Lead to ensure the delivered IT capabilities meet the Business and System requirements (align to Scope).
  • Manage client expectations, anticipates operational and tactical risks and tracks them.
  • Clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate to leadership where required.
  • Accountable for managing and monitoring project performance of multiple projects with one or more internal and external dependencies, multiple scopes, including: providing guidance to Leadership and core team which consist of Business/IT and external entities.
  • Manages Issues, Risk, Dependencies and Change Request following the established PMO guidelines.
  • Identifies, negotiates, communicates and manages project changes.
  • Reports status of project, including project risks, to customers, project team, supervisor, Project Offices, governance and other key staff
  • Oversee project documentation and archiving. Adheres to the Project Management standards for project closure.
  • Responsible for managing external and vendor relationships (including the SOW and managing to implementation deliverables, schedules and costs/payments.)
  • Provides leadership and oversight for the planning, managing and implementation of IT projects.
  • Closely tracks the scope, cost and schedule of the IT deliverables to ensure commitment is met based on plans. Any deviations are worked through the change control process.
  • Ensure the sizings/cost provided by IT teams are completed in a timely manner and re-validated after requirements are completed.
  • Ensures all impacted teams are identified and confirmed by core team leads.
  • Ensure schedules provided by IT teams are coordinated between teams with dependencies in mind before the dates are communicated to the customer.
  • Reports timely project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on projects using the PMO standards. Includes project status reviews with leaders and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the kickoff of project work, to include development of the kickoff deck creation and presentation along with the Business Lead, Technical Solution Architect and/or Technical Lead.


Requirements:

  • 5 years of broad applied project management experience in managing software development technology projects and leading technical staff, preferably from a highly regulated industry like health care, finance or government operations.
  • PMP certification or working towards certification
  • Ability to develop project plans, manage individual deadlines and goals.
  • Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in various Project Management and Product Development concepts, methodologies and processes – including Waterfall and Agile
  • Must have a solid demonstrated proficiency in the use and/or understanding of project tracking and management tools such as MS Project (including project schedule & financial tracking, reports and outputs and SharePoint).
  • Solid proficiency with capacity planning and project projections with a strong financial management background
  • Strong PC skills specifically utilizing the MS Office Suite products (e.g., MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.) and SharePoint.
  • Strong Communications (written and verbal) and highly effective working with people

Preferred:

  • Health care industry related experience.
  • Experience using Agile methodology.


Skill Sets Desired, (1 -2 are a must have!)

1. SDLC experience - developing software (Not just overseeing an implementations and processes, but actually a PM that has built software with a team. This is very crucial.)
2. Agile development experience (Walked and has led teams through this process as part of the software development life-cycle in building software)
3. Healthcare experience (not required but VERY beneficial)
4. PMP certification- OR enrolled in education to be certified
5. Executive exposure
6. Scrum master experience
