WebSphere MQ / IIB Admin is responsible for production support, implementation, standards / governance, integration/deployment, monitoring, root cause analysis and performance tuning. Possess familiarity with varied concepts, standard best business practices, and procedures.
- Be Responsible for enterprise WebSphere MQ messaging infrastructure across distributed platforms including; AIX and z/OS
- Administer and manage MQ Clusters
- Administer and manage MQ Publish/Subscribe
- Perform software installations and patches to WebSphere MQ Servers
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and deploy IIB in AIX environment
- Perform backup & recovery, clustering, security, patch management, enterprise monitoring & performance tuning.
- Work with application development teams providing support of middleware components.
- Perform strategic analysis and design of MQ/IIB infrastructure and make recommendations on improvements and/or new systems required to meet business needs and future capacity.
- Set up security for WebSphere MQ queues & other objects for data access.
- Familiarity with JMS and WebSphere MQ
- Participate in MQ/IIB disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Participate in regular on call rotation, providing 24x7 support meeting business SLA's
- Ability to communicate technical issues in a non-technical manners to clients and management.
