Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the definition and refinement of cloud infrastructure automation strategy, architecture and standards. This should include defining how should the organization coordinates automated tasks across different technology domains, to:
- Reduce time for cloud infrastructure service provisioning
- Raise user satisfaction with self-service functions
- Improve service uptime due to automation of manual, error-prone, changes
- Minimize handoffs between different teams which otherwise would be manual
- Maximize developer and app-owner flexibility in consuming cloud services
- Maximize re-use and maintainability of automation assets
- Coordinate the identification of automation opportunities, define approaches and solution architectures
- Lead efforts to codify, deploy and operate prioritized automation
- Champion automation efforts across teams

Experience and Skills:
- Proven track record of working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business leaders
- Experience in defining IT strategy, standards, and architecture – particularly with automation, public cloud services and IT infrastructure
- Background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain
- 4+ years of experience as a solutions architect, enterprise architect, or in an architect consulting delivery role with a solution sales mentality
- 2+ years focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures
- Demonstrated ability to work with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers
- Automation and integration technologies
- Tooling such as – Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible/Tower, Puppet/Chef, vRA/vRO, other orchestrators, configuration management frameworks, etc.
- Development languages – JavaScript, Python, Bash, Java, etc.
- API development, JSON, micro-service architecture, API Gateways, SOA frameworks, ESBs, ETL pipe-lines, etc
- IT infrastructure
- AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, OpenStack, OpenShift, VMware vRealize Suite
- Software defined networking, storage systems architecture, virtualization, containers, serverless technologies, big-data and ML platforms
- Familiarity with security fundamentals at the infrastructure, including cloud and hypervisor, and operating system level
