The successful Sr. Business Analyst will work as part of a project team and with the customers & stakeholders to understand the Business needs and translate them into meaningful requirements that can be used by the software development team to develop a solution. The Business Analyst will conduct stakeholder analysis, elicit and manage requirements, recommend solution approaches, develop the business cases, and validate the solution. They may additionally manage User Acceptance Testing and complete applicable project artifacts such as User Stories, Architecture Documents, Design Documents, and SOW’s.

8 years’ experience in a business analyst role
SaFE certification preferred

• Elicit requirements using interviews & document analysis, run requirements workshops, conduct surveys, site visits, create business cases, business process mappings, use cases, scenarios, user stories, enterprise analysis, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), Use Cases, Acceptance Criteria, UI mockups, Screen and Interface designs
• Successfully engage in and execute on multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Engage and collaborate with the project team on a day to day basis through standups, team meetings, and retrospectives
• Facilitation and Negotiation
• Effective use of different negotiation styles
• Ability to identify important business/technical issues
• Understanding and considering all parties’ interests, motivations and objectives
• Encouraging stakeholders to reach win/win outcomes on a regular basis
• Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of the project managers
• Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
• Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow
• Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates
• Manage requirements changes, solution scope, and requirements traceability
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
• Conduct requirements validation using Structured Walkthroughs or similar tools
• Successful delivery of projects utilizing the agile software development methodology
• Document requirements as User Stories and Tasks in both TFS, Jira and/or HP Quality Center

Qualities
Minimum Education is BS in MIS, Computer Science, or related field
Experience with EVMS, Six Sigma, and LEAN methodologies
8 years’ experience in a business analyst role
SaFE certification preferred.
Pega Experience preferred
Personal organization: on-time completion of tasks and rapid response to information requests
CBAP certification is preferred
Knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies
Ability to travel for workshops and structured walkthroughs as needed
