Job Responsibilities
3+ years of experience as a cloud engineer creating and maintaining cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures
Strong understanding of enterprise automation, integration, and modern software engineering practices
Ideally candidates will have hands-on experience with:
Configuration Management Tools – Ansible (required), Puppet or Chef
Build Systems – Jenkins (preferred), Bamboo, Travis, CircleCI
Infrastructure Orchestration Tools – vRO, Terraform
Container Orchestration Technologies – Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher
Logging Systems – such as Elastic Stack or Splunk
Monitoring Systems – NewRelic or Appdynamics
Deep familiarity with cloud infrastructure design patterns and anti-patterns
Strong technical experience with common cloud and IT infrastructure technologies such as: AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, OpenStack, OpenShift, VMware vRealize Suite
Background in software-defined networking, storage systems architecture, virtualization, containers, serverless technologies, big-data, and ML platforms
Understanding of security fundamentals at the hypervisor and operating system levels
Expertise debugging networking/connectivity problems in a complex technical stack.
Ideal candidates will also have significant cloud engineering and test-driven, full-stack development experience;
Proficiency with multiple development languages – Python, JavaScript, Bash, Java, etc; and a firm grasp of API development,
Micro-service architectures,
API Gateways, and SOA frameworks

Job Description:
• Cloud infrastructure automation (i.e. provisioning, configuration, and management of bare metal, IaaS, PaaS, and NFV resources)
• IT process automation and orchestration
• DevOps and application release automation (i.e. CI/CD)
• Hardware provisioning and lifecycle automation (e.g. compute, storage, networking) Responsibilities:
• Help Cox build out self-service IaaS, PaaS, and NFV via end-to-end automation that achieves the following goals:
• Deliver compute, network, and storage resources and DevOps tooling for 80% of customer requests in two days or less
• Maximize developer and app owner flexibility in consuming cloud services
• Raise user satisfaction and consumption
• Improve service uptime by reducing human error
• Minimize manual handoffs between teams
• Facilitate and contribute to the definition and refinement of automation strategy, architecture, and standards for public and private cloud infrastructure
• Inject software architecture design patterns and software engineering best practices into infrastructure operations
• Comprehensively evaluate new technologies and define how the organization should integrate them into their existing stack
• Identify automation opportunities and solution reusable automation workflows
• Champion efforts to codify, deploy, and manage automation across different domains and teams
• The candidate should exhibit strong infrastructure automation skills and demonstrate significant experience working with cloud computing technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, VMware vRealize Suite, AWS)
