Software Engineers perform requirements analysis. They then design, develop or maintain the physical application (components) or the application environment, based on the Software Architecture (models and principles). Activities include coding, integrating, implementing, installing or changing frameworks and standard components, or technical and functional application management. A Software Engineer also develops languages, methods, frameworks and tools, and/or undertakes activities in support of server-based databases in development, test and production environments.
DevOps Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
- Deploy and maintain critical applications on cloud-native micro-services architecture
- Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
- Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve
- Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations
- Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery
- Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages
- Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards
- Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects
- Document and design various processes; update existing processes
- Improve infrastructure development and application development
- Iterate on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of deployments
- Minimum of seven 4-7 years of DevOps and Cloud Computing experience in highly complex environments.
- Hands on managing cloud native applications
- Software development experience, ideally in Python or Java.
- Container Workflows: Kubernetes, Docker Swarm
- Virtualization: AMI, Vagrant, VirtualBox, VMware
- Cloud computing: Openstack, AWS,GCP
- Configuration management: Ansible, Puppet
- Provisioning: Terraform, CloudFormation, Kickstart
- Continuous integration tools: Jenkins 2.0, Circle CI
- SCM tools: Git
- Scripting languages: Shell, Perl, Python
- Experience with MySQL, Postgres, Casandra, Redis, OracleDB or MongoDB
