Role Description:

This position is within Deutsche Bank’s US Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Transformation and Remediation team. This team covers all elements of remediation required within the banks’ US AFC compliance programs. The person filling this role will primarily be responsible for supporting the day to day AFC Americas Data Governance functions and remediation activities, therefore responsible for business and data analysis, ensuring proper tracking, escalation, stakeholder management and understanding of all data issues and challenges.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Support the AFC T&R Data team by managing the identification, analysis and remediation of data quality issues impacting AFC
  • Conduct root cause analysis of issues following a fix once principle.
  • Own the analysis tasks and actions to address data quality issues and to achieve necessary data quality levels.
  • Liaise with business, legal, compliance, AFC, business and technology stakeholders.
  • Define criteria to assess the design effectiveness and operating effectiveness of controls in place that validate the integrity, accuracy and quality of data to ensure accurate and complete data flows through the Transaction Monitoring and Filtering program.
  • Support the day-to-day operational functions of data management, ensuring Data Principles and Policies are adhered to within the AFC domain scope.
  • Own and execute the day to day oversight of AFC Data Issues.
  • Analyze and document current state system architecture flows, field mappings, and user processes to bring transparency to the complexity and interdependence between systems and data.
  • Prepare business requirements to address system root causes and arrange for sign-off from stakeholders across all functions including front office, infrastructure and IT.
  • Take responsibility for assigned issues and remediation plan
  • Ensure all data requirements can be tied back to a specific business output, and prioritize remediation based on the direct relevance of data sourced for the purpose of these outputs; both Financial and Regulatory.
  • Work in partnership with upstream suppliers of data (Transaction, Reference Data etc.) to ensure data remedies are understood and appropriately prioritized.
  • Work across all other DQ initiatives to ensure there is a cohesive approach to DQ remediation.
  • Ensure data quality monitoring takes place and performance against data quality requirements is properly reported.

Experience/Exposure:

  • Methodical, persistent, precise, and inquisitive working style.
  • Experience with payment systems and/or products (e.g.: ACHs, wires) – highly preferred.
  • Experience within AFC programs (e.g.: AML, Sanctions) – highly preferred
  • Analysis experience, preferably in the area of AFC Compliance - minimum 5+ years “relevant” experience.
  • Strong data affinity (e.g.: SQL).
  • Experience with data governance programs and processes.
  • Ability to absorb information quickly and link related topics.
  • Experienced in effectively communicating with and positively influencing project stakeholders and team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written English and ability to tailor communication to various audiences.
  • Must have a keen eye for detail with a focus on quality control.
  • Ability to influence key project resources without direct reporting responsibility.
  • Proven ability to effectively assess and mitigate project risks and dependencies.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data governance and lineage tools (e.g.: Colibra, Solidatus).
  • Must be a team player; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet competing/changing deadlines.
  • Desire to learn new content and understand the regulation so enable effective challenge of design effectiveness.
  • Undergraduate Degree from an accredited college or university.
