Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver strategies and solutions for enterprise infrastructure -- including servers, databases, storage devices, etc. that handle the data necessary for enterprise operations.
- lead and manage large scale and complex initiatives involving technology build-out and transition of customers from current data centers to new target data centers.
- Coordinates the development of the migration strategy and tactical plans with business partners to transition customers from current data centers to future data centers.
- Planning and coordinating activities and resources for key projects.
- Coordinating the development of strategies and project plans to migrate existing customers from current data centers to future data centers.
- Analyzing and managing the required deliverables for data center moves.
- Managing status meetings with teams to ensure on-time delivery and mitigation. Participating during conversion window activities and share leadership role and project plan execution with implementation teams.
- Participating in strategic planning sessions with all teams and management to determine the scope and objectives of each project.
- Schedule and document meeting minutes, manage action items and monitor project schedule.
- Prepare status reports/updates and communicate to stakeholders and business leadership project direction and changes.
- Tracks key project milestones and recommends adjustments to Project Managers, Business Stakeholders, and Technical Leads.
- Lead the development of Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery program development.
Qualifications:
- Industry expertise: 7-10 Years DataCenter Migrations.
- Experience overseeing a data center migration project or program. Experience planning and executing Datacenter consolidations, relocations, and migrations
- Ability to perform infrastructure discovery and assessments and provide technical solutions.
- General understanding of all data center functions (production operations, network, change control, DR/Business recovery, helpdesk, systems management, and facilities) with a focus on server, storage, and database technologies.
- Holistic understanding of the interdependencies of data center functions and technologies. Datacenter/Server Consolidation
- Experience with managing an IT Infrastructure refresh process.
- Experience with private and public cloud architectures, pros/cons, and migration considerations.
- Architectural exposure to Windows, LINUX, UNIX, VMware, Hyper-V, XenServer, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, IIS Server, SAN, NAS, VCE/FlexPod, and other technologies.
- Server Operating Systems (e.g. Microsoft Windows, Unix, Linux, etc.)
- Storage (EMC, NetApp, Glacier, S3, etc.)
- Virtualization Platforms (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Cloud Computing and Storage (AWS, Azure)
- Workload Migration Automation Tools (Double-Take, Racemi, etc.)
