Job Description:

Senior IT System Engineer- BMC Remedy Developer/Admin is responsible for monitoring, configuration, administration, troubleshooting and maintenance of the BMC Remedy Core Suite and other supporting BMC technologies. Provide technical support and troubleshoot problems and perform scripting/programming to ensure stable and efficient operation of technology solutions. Drive and implement automation enhancements and process improvement efforts, are assigned to multiple complex systems/applications. Lead initiatives, oversee work results, provide training and serve as a technical resource for other Systems Engineers.

Essential Functions:

  • Configures, and customizes software solutions using the BMC Remedy Action Request System (ARS) platform.
  • Configures, and customizes software solutions using the BMC Remedy IT Service Management ITSM Suite (IM, PM, AM, CM, SLA, CMDB, SRM & ADDM).
  • Designs and provides software solutions in ARS ensuring the process flow of the Remedy ITSM modules renders expectations in SmartIT/MYIT (Digital Workplace).
  • UI Experience with supporting the UI for the following BMC Products: Digital Workplace Advanced (DWPA), Smart IT, MY IT
  • Leverages the software development lifecycle to design, build, test, and implement solutions based on customers' requirements Assists in defining user requirements within the Remedy ITSM client applications.
  • Develop custom applications and workflows to support the automation of manual and resource intensive business processes.
  • Documents coding changes to be used for test and migration plans.
  • Troubleshoots software bugs using client and server logging Packages coding changes for releases to be migrated between the applicable environments, e.g., development, test and production.
  • Provides the Operations and Maintenance Team system support, as needed.
  • Performs standard administration system configuration.
  • Works as part of a Team on customer engagements.
  • May participate in Disaster Recovery planning and exercise.

Preferred Work Experience:

  • 7+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience and education.

Preferred Education (not required):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education

Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience in design, implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting technical infrastructure or development or equivalent combination of transferable experience and education.
  • Extensive working knowledge of multiple technologies and their interfaces and integration.
  • Creating and modifying objects using Developer Studio.
  • Competent working in one or more environments highly integrated with an operating system.
  • Experience with Data Migration Tool.
  • Experience with Spoon.
  • Experience implementing and administering/managing technical solutions in major, large-scale system implementations.
  • High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Proven leadership abilities including effective knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation of open discussions, fairness and displaying appropriate levels of assertiveness.
  • Ability to communicate highly complex technical information clearly and articulately for all levels and audiences.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundations V3
  • BMC Certified AR System Developer 9.x or higher
  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Smart Reporting and Analytics Experience using Agile methodology.
