IT Project Managers are responsible for the overall direction, management, communication, coordination of status reports, and accountability of project-oriented work efforts and the success of their projects across the IT organization. This position supports technical projects related to various host operating systems, applications, and software. The focus will be on the end of life / life cycle management of specific inventories of IT infrastructure. The IT Project Manager will work with cross-functional teams to document and track identified hardware and software within the environment and manage till retirement or remediation. IT Project Managers projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high-quality standards and meet customer expectations. The PM trains others, creates or assists in creating compliance documents based on approved standards and procedures to meet the program requirements. The PM track key milestones and adjust project plans, budget requests, and/or resources to meet the needs of the compliance program.

Essential Functions:
The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned,

  • Manage projects with internal and external dependencies, moderate scope, risk of moderate severity & impact, integration within functional capabilities, moderate cost, and typically longer duration within more than one team of resources.
  • Responsible for developing and reviewing detailed multiple project plans and multiple audit artifacts and date sensitive material.
  • Participates in change initiatives including tasks and initiatives outside of specific job duties such as audit readiness and preparation.
  • Communicate project status to project team, stakeholders’ leadership and Program Managers associated with other projects.
  • Advise leadership, project team, customers, and staff on tactical solutions to dealing with barriers within a project.
  • Escalate issues, negative impacts and delays, and work the process to the desired outcome.
  • Accountable for active facilitation of project issue resolution, change, risk, and dependency management.
  • Accountable for project delivery including meeting time and quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Leads project meetings.
  • Creates and maintains relationships with stakeholders and team members in order to achieve mutual goals.
  • Implement process improvements including writing process documents.
  • Mentor IT Project Managers and SMEs / Managers on the compliance process.
  • Works, advises, manages, and controls the compliance process with the SMEs and Mangers.
  • Experienced at the in-the-weeds level with the Audit process.
  • Understand Infrastructure, network, and the technical interconnections of systems, devices, and applications.
  • Consult and train SMEs and Managers on asset life cycle asset management and compliance standards.
  • Understand and identify vendor life cycle hardware and software management.

Required Work Experience

  • 3-5 years Project Management related work experience or an equivalent combination of transferable experience and education.
  • No supervisory / management experience required.

TOP 3 SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience working with technical projects involving infrastructure, assets, host operating systems, applications/software
  • Asset life-cycle management experience
  • Experience with vendor support to make determinations (extended support, end of life, identification, etc.)

Required Education:

  • Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience IT related field
