ER Unit Description: The Emergency Department is fully equipped to handle urgent and critical emergencies, including multiple trauma cases; cardiac, neurological and pediatric emergencies; orthopedic injuries; obstetrical and gynecological cases; and other emergencies. Physicians in 20 specialties and sub-specialties readily available, residents from throughout the region are assured access to comprehensive emergency healthcare 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week.

Position Summary: Provide professional nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process. To collaborate with other members of the health care delivery team including physicians, to deliver quality health care.

Additional Information:

  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required
  • BLS – AHA Healthcare Provider required
  • ACLS required
  • PALS required
  • TNCC preferred
  • CEN and/or ENPC preferred
  • Arrhythmia recognition course within 6 months (if not documented in previous experience)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

  • Acute care experience preferred
  • Critical or emergent care experience preferred

PCU Unit Description: The Progressive Care Unit provides intermediate level inpatient care to adult and geriatric patients. All beds have telemetry capabilities and patients are monitored unless otherwise ordered by the MD. Mechanisms are in place to monitor patients in transport and during procedures in ancillary departments. Two negative pressure rooms are available for those patients whose condition requires respiratory isolation. PCU is designed for patients who do not require the level of monitoring provided in the critical care units, but require a higher level of monitoring than provided on the medical-surgical units.

  • MUST HAVE at least 1 year short term or long term acute care exp.
  • 44 beds
  • 1:5 ratio
  • Days and Night shifts open (7-7)
  • Fast pace/ challenging unit
  • PCT support on unit
  • Must be willing to care for COVID patients

Surgical Unit Description: Surgical Services provides preoperative, perioperative and postoperative care for adult and pediatric patients, (no less than 3 months or 10 lbs). The operating suite consists of nine suites. The operating suite is open from 6:00am to 11:00pm Monday through Friday, and on call all other hours. Procedures performed in the Operating Room include general, ENT, oral, thoracic, vascular, urological, orthopedic, gynecological, cardiovascular and neurosurgical. Cases are pre-scheduled elective, urgent, and emergent. General, regional, moderate and local anesthesia is available. Patient care is provided under the direction of a nursing director, with responsibility and authority to carry out all established policies, and for providing overall direction in the quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care provided.

Additional Information:

  • MUST HAVE at least 1 year in the OR
  • 10 rooms
  • Biggest need is 2nd shift (M-F): 12-8, 3-11, but will still consider a good OR nurse if they want days
  • CALL REQUIRED- must be within 30 min of the facility when on call
  • On call about 7 days a month
  • 2 circulator roles open and 1 charge ($3+)
  • Looking for candidates with good retention

TNCU Description: The Tele Neuro Care Unit (TNCU) is a 44 bed unit that provides acute level inpatient care to adult and geriatric patients and the designated Stroke unit for acute care of stroke patients. All beds have telemetry capabilities and patients are monitored unless otherwise ordered by the MD. Mechanisms are in place to monitor patients in transport and during procedures in ancillary departments. One negative pressure room is available for those patients whose condition requires respiratory isolation. TNCU is designed for patients who do not require the level of monitoring provided in the Progressive Care Unit or the Critical Care Units.

  • MUST HAVE at least 1 year short term. long term acute care, rehab, or skilled nursing

  • Days and Night shifts open (7-7)
  • Primary COVID unit: Must be willing to care for COVID patients

Qualifications:

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

  • Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN required

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required
  • BLS – AHA Healthcare Provider
  • ACLS & PALS required (Same Day Surgery)
  • CNOR preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

  • 1-3 Years Acute care experience preferred

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  • Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transcribe physician’s orders
  • Knowledge of universal precautions
  • Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic arrhythmia test recognition – have upon hire or within 30 days of hire with a 90% passing score
