Regulation, Compliance and Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) protect the integrity and reputation of DB. They manage the Bank’s risks and help to avoid unintentional rule breaches and conflicts of interest. At the same time, they also advise us on ethical conduct and governance issues and keep our organization up-to-date on regulatory and political challenges.

We are committed to the highest standards of control in the areas of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) and Anti-Fraud (collectively referred to as Anti-Financial Crime). All employees are required to adhere to these standards to protect our reputation from those who may intend to use our products and services for illegal purposes including, but not necessarily limited to, money laundering, bribery, corruption, fraud and/or Terrorist Financing.

Overview:

The Financial Crimes Operations (FCO) Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development and management of a team of investigators within the FCI program, including the associated policies, procedures and controls. The VP will also propose procedural enhancements.

The position will report to the Head of the AFC Transaction Monitoring for JAX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee teams of Analyst to AVP level investigators
  • Conduct thorough transaction monitoring utilizing DB AML systems to detect any activity indicative of money laundering or other suspicious activity
  • Set team deliverables and set timescales to agreed minimum standards and ensuring adherence to regulatory/ audit requirements
  • Promote continuous analysis by interpreting relevant industry regulations and DB’s Compliance policies to ensure controls are appropriately implemented and monitored for compliance
  • Perform oversight functions and work with monitoring team leads in order to provide feedback and determine focus of reviews.
  • Work closely with team daily to ensure that the work is prioritized based on staffing and capacity for the team
  • Work directly with the FCO management to identify and escalate open issues that represent risk
  • Keep abreast of new rules, regulations and reputation risks to develop implement and revise current policies and procedures
  • Understand business and regulatory requirements and ensure functions are being performed in those requirements
  • Understand the full scope of the end-to-end transaction monitoring process
  • Ensure continual best practices across the transaction monitoring investigative process are effectuated
  • Develop and try and retain staff with supporting personnel continued development and assist in the development of training guidance
  • Serve as a point of contact for the respective transaction monitoring team leads to address any issues/concerns that may arise as it pertains to the investigative process
  • Manage and assist in the management of succession planning
  • Assist the Director of FCO JAX to address audit inquiries internally & externally
  • Monitor MIS and ensure management accountability in resolving the aging of cases/alerts to meet established SLA
  • Ensure KOPs are up to date and work on special projects and assist as needed

You will have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience as an AML investigator in a transaction monitoring capacity 5+ years’ experience or equivalent experience or education
  • 3+ years’ experience management experience in a comparable environment
  • Ability to lead a team of professionals by goal setting and driving completion of assigned tasks
  • Ability to interact with Infrastructure and other appropriate groups in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to identify, escalate and communicate issues to management in an effective and succinct manner
  • Effective decision making skills and strong problem solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of AML laws (USA PATRIOT Act), Regulations (Fed, SEC, FINRA) and their application to the supported products/business lines.
  • Experience in Correspondent Banking, Global Markets and Asset Management businesses is preferred
  • Experienced with Mantas, Norkom and Actimize is preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • CAMS certification is a plus
