Aventura Hospital and Medical Center is a fully accredited 407-bed acute care medical/surgery facility providing award-winning inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, medical, surgical and cancer services. In order to meet the needs of our ever-growing community we are a designated Level II Trauma Center and have broken ground on a $75.6M expansion project to increase emergency room capacity and bring a new patient tower and parking garage to Aventura Hospital and Medical Center.

Job Description:

The Specialty Coordinator/Certified Surgical Technologist in collaboration with the surgical team and under supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assumes responsibility for the care and safety of the patient; instrumentation, supplies and equipment during the surgical procedure. Additionally, assumes responsibility for ensuring effective communication with the circulator, charge nurse, patient, surgeon, anesthesiologist and other hospital personnel/departments.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical diploma.
• Minimum of one (1) year work experience in the operating room, preferred.
• Current BCLS certification required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages desirable
• Basic computer knowledge.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

• Shift: M-F Day shift, Occasional weekend, On Call

• MUST HAVE At least 3-5 years exp as a Certifiedsurgical tech with Ortho and Neuro exp

• Must HAVE 10+ years exp if not certified surgical tech
