Seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst, with insurance industry experience, for location in downtown Birmingham, AL. Alternatively, this position could be located in Alpharetta, GA. The Senior Business Systems Analyst serves as a technical expert with recognized subject matter expertise across departments and projects. Accountable for the largest projects. Recommends best practices for change management and configuration maintenance. Manages production activities and leads activities of major initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical expert with recognized subject matter expertise across departments and projects. Accountable for largest projects.
  • Drive and provide recommendations based on cost benefits of business proposals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert
  • Look for productivity and efficiency gains
  • Recommend change management best practices including:
    a. Training
    b. Documentation support
    c. Production readiness activities
  • Recommend configuration maintenance best practices including:
    a. Research, elicit and write business requirements and functional designs.
    b. Drive analysis, design, implementation and testing of configuration rules the engine(s).
    c. Ensures accuracy and completeness of documentation and implementation.
    d. Expert knowledge of systems development lifecycle activities.
  • Manage production activities such as:
    a. Triage, troubleshooting.
    b. Data analysis (e.g., SQL / data analysis)
    c. Product and compliance requests.
  • Lead activities of major initiatives including:
    a. Support high level estimation and design during Ideation.
    b. Provide oversight of all work requests.
    c. Strong project management background to fulfill project management needs as required.
    d. Maintains knowledge of business functionality and technical platforms as the business climate and technology platforms evolve.
    e. Performs procedural duties within standardized practices, where applicable.
    f. Complies with and supports all corporate, department and security policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required or requested.
  • Mentors BSA group to improve overall level of performance

Position Qualifications:

  • 10+ Years of Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Industry leading expert of insurance or a related financial services industry.
  • Provides thought leadership and solves complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.
