Seeking Mainframe PL/1 Developer.

The Software Engineer works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Interface with internal team members and clients to migrate, customize, and debug between PL/I code versions
• Document requirements, use cases, system design and code as projects require
• Manage multiple concurrent tasks to completion on-time and on-budget
• Deliver within the scope of the project while protecting project profit margins
• Work closely with team members and client contacts to achieve desired results
• Thrive in an environment of collaboration and change
• Develop user-friendly code adhering to coding standards and best practices
• Work remotely, while maintaining a high level of communication with managers and team members

Education and Experience

• 7-10 years of development experience using cutting edge development tools.
• Agile methodology for software development.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Strong object-oriented programming skills a plus.
• Proven experience in Mainframe and/or Cloud Technology.
• Strong understanding of Mainframe and Cloud technologies preferred.
• Strong database development knowledge.
• Experienced in unit testing, test-driven development, integration testing, and deployment using Team Foundation server and/or GIT.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Agile Development Methodologies
• 5+ years of PL/1 Development experience, including the ability to read and migrate IBM PL/I and CA-Telon PL/I to Micro Focus PL/I
• Experience and proven understanding of IMS/DB and IMS/DC(TM) in a Mainframe environment.
• Experience with IMS in a Linux environment preferred.
• Experience with DevOps environments preferred
