Project Overview

Senior Pega Developers for a 100% remote position. To support a critical Pega v8.8 Cloud Migration project involving transition from on-premise Postgres DB to a cloud-based environment. This effort requires deep hands-on Pega development and migration expertise, with strong understanding of customized enterprise-level implementations. Former Florida Blue contractors are highly preferred due to the complex, tailored configuration of the organization’s Pega platform.

Job Summary

The Senior Pega Developer will design, build, and enhance enterprise applications within the Pega ecosystem, participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle. This includes gathering and analyzing business requirements, coding, testing, debugging, and supporting production systems. The developer will also ensure compliance with security and IT control standards and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement Pega applications (v8.x / Infinity) according to defined best practices and guardrails.

  • Participate in solution design sessions, architecture planning, and code reviews.

  • Develop and maintain Case Management, Business Services, JDE, and Master Data Management components.

  • Implement integrations (REST, SOAP, File Listener, MQ) and perform error handling, performance tuning, and rule optimization.

  • Create and configure Data Pages, Activities, Data Transforms, Flows, Case Types, and Decision Rules following branch strategy.

  • Utilize Pega tools such as Admin Studio, SMA, PAL, and PMI to monitor and improve performance.

  • Support migration from on-prem to Pega Cloud (including upgrade from 8.4 to 8.8).

  • Collaborate with testing teams and participate in Agile ceremonies.

  • Document system specifications, configuration changes, and support guides.

Requirements

  • Pega Certified CSSA (required); CLSA preferred.

  • 8+ years of total experience in Pega PRPC development, architecture, and design.

  • Strong experience with Pega 8.x / Infinity and prior upgrade or migration projects.

  • Skilled in system integrations (REST, SOAP, MQ, Kafka).

  • Proficient with Oracle and SQL database operations.

  • Strong Linux administration background.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and WebSphere Liberty / JBOSS / Tomcat environments.

  • Strong understanding of Pega UX/UI, including Portals, Skins, Flow Actions, and Constellation/Cosmos.

  • Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pega Cloud migration or upgrade to v24.2 experience.

  • Experience within healthcare or financial domains.

  • Familiarity with Pega container management, background job configuration, and performance monitoring tools (AES, PAL, PMI).

  • Exposure to DX API integration and Constellation architecture.

  • 100% Remote – US only.

  • Core business hours: 8 AM–5 PM EST.
