Direct responsibility for US, EU and LATAM, managing IP Layer One organization in design, implementation, maintenance, enhancement and troubleshooting of global telecommunications network equipment. Led and directed over 30 personnel with teams for Network Engineering, Planning, Carrier Relations, Network Implementation, Budgeting and Cost Accounting. Handled departmental budgeting, vendor analysis and vendor contracts. Led long-term projects and short-term service requests. - Reduced costs by over $3 million annually while increasing network capacity by 50% by leading NTT Europe IP backbone redesign, migrating from 10 gig backbone to 100 gig backbone.

- Increased network scalability with reduced cost (from $450k to $27k monthly) and innovated pricing schemes on power charge on the actual power draw versus breaker power by leading major POP migration in LA. This allowed for new equipment deployments at no additional power cost.
- Scaled Frankfurt and Madrid sites to 100 gig and beyond by directing migrations for POP optimizations, enabling sites to grow with the next generation routers.
- Saved $2 million by performing an accurate audit of the three business units within NTT America Telco Account group.

Senior Director of Network Infrastructure (2005-2013)
Led and directed over 25 personnel with teams for Network Engineering, Planning, Carrier Relations, Network Implementation, and Budgeting. Assumed additional networking engineering responsibilities, including third-party facility management and equipment installation. Managed COGS and facility operations budget. Handled contract negotiations for carriers and facilities. Led Telco Planning Committee and Facility Planning Committee, bringing all business units together to work out issues with carriers or third-party facility providers. Managed annual network RFPs, establishing a highly diverse network. Reported to COO/Global Internet Network BU Head.
- Migrated from 2.5 gig backbone to 10 gig backbone, bringing on added capacity (75 gig backbone to 300 gig Backbone) and cost savings of $1.5 million annually, dropping cost per meg 66%.
- Collaborated with Fibernet in NYC to set up the industry’s first metro Ethernet hub platform, allowing greater customer access to our network. Cut access cost in half and increased the on net buildings by the thousands.
- Kept network availability at 99.999% by working with XO Communications to establish first commercially viable protected wave platform, lowering cost by 35%.
- Drove average network cost reductions of 20% YOY through negotiations with CenturyLink, AT&T and Verizon.
Director of Telecommunications Global Internet (2000-2005)
Led and directed 20 personnel, including three team Planning and Carrier Relations, Network Implementation, Test and Turn Up. Managed internet backbone telecommunications; established key relationships with telecommunication providers and handled contract negotiations. Managed the COGS budget. Established and led internal business unit network working group, bringing together department heads to plan and strategize future network expansions. Met weekly to going over ongoing status, evaluate and approve new projects and submit business cases for executive level approval.
- Increased network capacity four-fold with 30% reduction in network cost by upgrading network from OC12 SONET to 2.5 DWDM.
- Decreased US network cost from $50 million annually to under $35 million by redesigning network and managing carriers to allow diversity and cost savings.
- Instrumental in the development of Business Units and charter member of the newly established Global Internet Network Business Unit, supporting the Enterprise, Data Center and Hosting BU’s with backbone internet services.
- Negotiated new contract terms with Qwest, achieving $3 million in savings by reducing term by two years and cost by 25% on back bone network circuits.
