Animal Hospital Administrative Assistant
Oct 2014 - Dec 2015
Administrative Assistant for the Jax Humane Society veterinary clinic for dogs and cats. My daily tasks consisted of checking the voicemail, answering the phone, and making confirmation calls. Most incoming calls were for appointments. Accuracy along with speed were required in order to speak with all clients and return all voicemails each day. Confirmation calls were made to remind clients of their appointments and make cancellations when needed. Open appointment slots on the schedule were offered to clients on the waitlist in ascending date order. Communicating with the team was extremely necessary in order to avoid double booking an open appointment slot on the program.

I was a part of the production team performing assembly of Nurse Call products for hospitals and completing Purchase Orders. The warehouse position required standing continuously, bending and climbing for packages up to 50 lbs, use of a manual pallet jack, screw counter, scale, tape measure, Microsoft Excel and Internet Browser, Fedex Ship Manager software, and pallet wrap techniques for large shipments on Freight trucks. I was promoted to Warehouse Supervisor within 6 months of being an assistant. My new duties consisted of: handling all calls from vendors and clientele, ordering any necessary supplies, handling shipments for the executive team, attending daily meetings, resolving any shipping issues, reloading the coke machine on premise, and maintaining a fleet of four Hyundai Sonata's for the installation technicians to use to travel to the clientele's hospital.

Landstar Department of Transportation requires all truck drivers to sleep a certain amount of time over 24 hours in order to be alert on the roadways. Paperwork is filled out by driver's each day to show proof of compliance with this rule. The imaging department was comprised of 4 teams of 6 persons whom scanned and indexed current driver logs. Each team also scanned and indexed old driver logs boxed away prior to the computer system so all paperwork would be eliminated. Meticulous accuracy was necessary to ensure that all driver's were not in violation of the DOT ordinance and that each day the quota was met.
