InfoSphere Data Replication Product Manager – Responsible for the IBM’s data replication (IIDR) product portfolio, with guiding the development of the product, conducting market research, product requirements, deliverables, pricing and marketing strategies.

As the IIDR product manager, I am responsible for developing and facilitating the IIDR product strategy. I have been focused on enhancing IIDR to meet tomorrow’s demands on near real-time data movement for analytics, business continuity and big data across the mainframe, Linux, Unix and Windows. I am responsible for driving replication revenue and building new markets for IBM’s solution. I work with customers as stakeholders to address their data integration needs.

Certified IT Specialist – Responsible for technical sales for the InfoSphere and Data Warehousing products on z/OS. The role includes the following aspects.

  • Provide technical sales support in customer opportunities to the Software Sales Team within IBM by providing technical knowledge of the Information Integration and data warehousing products.

  • Propose architectural solutions and recommendations based on the customer’s current environment and requirements.

Responsible for the technical architecture of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Information Management Database Environments on DB2 for LUW and z/OS, including a multi-terabyte Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment. Responsible for performance monitoring and tuning of the production Information Management database environments on DB2 for LUW and z/OS. Test DB2 release functionality and implementation plans. Aiding in building out the roadmap for conversion to the IBM recommend DB2 LUW BCU configuration. Developed a series of coding standards for the performance and re-startability of application processes against the database environments. Worked to obtain user adoption of the EDW from power users by aiding in converting SQL script process to ETL graphs and SQL tuning. Developed and enforcing the short-term and long-term backup and recovery strategies for all databases in DB2 for LUW. Provide advice and input for support on major production issues and outages. Monitoring and tuning ADHOC queries, production process improvements, making database configuration recommendations and ensuring timely maintenance to all databases on DB2 for LUW and z/OS.

Database Administration, Manager of the Enterprise Data Warehouse – Was responsible for the management of building the Bank of America, 30-terabyte data warehouse using DB2 on the OS/390 platform. At the time of my departure, the warehouse was approximately 15 terabytes of raw data. Lead the Proof of Concept with IBM at the Teraplex Center to prove that DB2 for OS/390 is a scalable platform for data warehousing. At the Teraplex Center we simulated a 10-terabyte data warehouse, which was later used for IBM TPC-D benchmarks of a 3-terabyte database.

Senior Database Administrator – Was responsible for the management of physical DB2 objects with our warehouse, datamarts and only transactions environments. This included maintaining an efficient DB2 system by tuning object definitions, monitoring and scheduling appropriate utilities. Participated in the offsite disaster recovery certification of our production DB2 subsystems.

Senior Programmer Analyst – Developed and maintained software for several online banking applications. Some accomplishments were, lead programmer for the data conversion of the commercial loans portfolio and upgrading to the new release of the loans software.
