Summary

Full life cycle development in the Client/Server Environment with 7 years leading applications development efforts. Technical strengths include JAVA, Hibernate, C/C++, MS ACCESS, ORACLE PL/SQL, SQL, VISUAL BASIC, UNIX SHELL SCRIPTS and PRO*C. Communication skills and ability to quickly define and resolve problems have helped to be a successful developer. Attention to details makes me a valuable asset. Seeking a full time midlevel position in Java application development environment. Always kept in touch with the cutting edge technology, by taking courses at Montgomery College. Recently completed JAVA Level I and JAVA Level II and JAVA Web Development Bootcamp course in which developed two applications - one Web Application similar to Twitter and the other one Shopping Cart Web Application, using JAVA EE 8, Eclipse, JPA JPQL, ORACLE 12c, Servlets, JSP, Expression Language, JSTL, Sessions/Cookies, HTML 5/CSS/JAVAScript, Bootstrap Framework, XML and Git.

Developed Multi-tiered Java application - Employee Database System using Factory pattern. In this application presentation layer is separate than the database layer. Presentation layer only knows, what interfaces Data Access Object implements and does not care about how the data is stored or processed. Changing the database from MySQL to Oracle or even to a binary file, XML File or to a Text File will not affect any other layer than the database layer.

Developed Client/Server Web Application similar to Twitter, using Java EE 8. In this application user logs in with an email id through the login page. The id and the password are verified by the servlet. Used Expression Language (EL) and JSTL. Created website which remembers information between visits using sessions and cookies. Connected to an Oracle 12c database using Java Persistence API (JPA). Used MVC designed pattern. User can create news feeds and they will be stored in the database using JPA. Users can view their own News only or all the news. Users can maintain their profile which is also stored in the user table. Used GitHub for the Source Code Management.

Designed Cyber Security Gateway System using CORBA technology. Lead a team of JAVA/C++ programmers. Wrote proposals, recommended software products and ORB, for the Gateway System. Used “Microsoft Project” for planning, assigning resources to the tasks, tracking progress and analyzing workloads for the Gateway System. Purchased and installed appropriate hardware including servers, desktop computers and laptops for the Gateway System. Also, set up a redundant center.

Redesigned portion of the Hubble Space Telescope simulated Object-Oriented System for the client NASA, using JAVA/C++ on Windows NT. Used SYSTEM ARHITECT tool to modify the Object Model Diagram and the Data Flow Diagrams. Used RUMBAUGH METHODOLOGY. Created a child class by inheriting from the existing class. This fix required a creation of new server and client to publish the information. Used sockets for the communication. Modified existing Interface document using NETSCAPE COMPOSER tool.

Used MS ACCESS to set up a database for “Program’s Proposals and Past Performance”. Brought the database in the Third Normal Form. Designed and developed the required Forms and reports.

Developed “Lot Navigator” software product which is widely used for the automatic validation of the data associated with manufactured memory chips and automatically transfer validated data (FTP) to the customer sites over the Internet. Designed Front-end (GUI) using VISUAL BASIC 5.0. For the middle tier and the database tier used JAVA, C++, C, UNIX, PRO*C and ORACLE SQL. Used ODBC and MS ACCESS to access from ORACLE/DB2 tables in UNIX/AIX, in one of the projects.

Also developed many Client side Applications using VISUAL BASIC 5.0 which had user friendly interfaces. Redesigned backend of “Lot Navigator” to make it event driven which minimized human intervention to almost zero. Also automated validated data transfer procedure making 100% sure the data was successfully transferred over the Internet.

Used Network Management Software – HP Open View Network Node Manager, OmniBack II and IT/O for the customers and also for the new Installations. Mainly concentrated on installations, configuration and implementation procedures. These duties required in depth knowledge of UNIX Operating System, Network Concepts and Network Management using SNMP protocol. Also installed HP_UX operating Systems on HP 9000/700 computers.

Performed full life cycle development of the Flagship product “RapidSIGN” from concept to implementation. Initially, this product was designed for a major east coast grocery chain. Wrote proposals, gathered system requirements, performed analysis and design. Coded entire software for the product RapidSIGN in C/UNIX, tested and implemented on UNIX/NCR, AIX, 4.1/C-20/RS6000 in two and half months. Simultaneously wrote Documentation of the System.

As the final product “Signs” were printed on XEROX Printers, it also involved integration of Prime computers with the Xerox printers and learning XEROX INTERPRETED LANGUAGE XICS. Used “INFO” database on PRIME/PRIMOS computers for the initial development of the product. The entire project was completed in a short period of only two and half months, which generated revenue flow of 4 million dollars,

annually, in few years. This accomplishment led to promotion from project Lead to Project Manager for the multi million dollars project RapidSIGN and acquired reputation for “doing the Impossible”.Also maintained “CATS” another software product which was written using BORLAND C++on WNDOWS 3.1. Made many enhancements to make the software more user friendly.Simultaneously, maintained few other revenue generating systems like mail order system.
