3 month contract at LAN Service Group as a Senior UNIX Systems Administrator. I was responsible for our clients' NexentStor SANs, Solaris 10 and Linux servers. This is a remote job as the clients are in California. Access is via VPN. My job was to verify the hardware and O/S configuration of the servers and repair (replace) some failed ZFS disks. Reconfigured Windows AD domains to provide authentication for Windows users via LDAP and Cifs.

Permanent position with Bechtel SAIC in Las Vegas, NV on the Yucca Mountain Project. See prior Bechtel SAIC contract. I am working in IS&T / Server Operations. I have installed Solaris 10 U3 on twelve Sun machines and Solaris 10 U4 on another five. Most have mirrored zfs file systems, many have multiple zones installed. I was responsible for introducing zfs and zones to Bechtel. All new machines have the boot disks mirrored either with Sun LVM or hardware raid 1. I wrote a ksh patching program which cut the time required to patch from six hours to one hour. I am mentoring a Junior UNIX Systems Administrator. We are responsible for 95 servers, Solaris 2.6 – 10, Hp-UX 11, Redhat ES4 and Irix. I have also installed OpenSolaris (Solaris 11) on one machine for evaluation. Hardware also included two multi-terabyte Network Appliance NAS servers for both UNIX and Windows storage.
