Buy houses, renovate and resell. This has been great fun and I have expanded my knowledge and skills along the way. I am now holding income producing properties and actively getting back to my technology roots. We use databases and computer software to locate real estate for purchase, evaluate, price out and design property improvements and repairs. I spend time locating, hiring and supervising contractors and subcontractors to implement designs and stay within budget and delivery times. I have learned my geographic area and drive about 100 miles a day to locate suitable properties that can be obtained, remodeled and resold under tight time constraints while still making a profit.

Scheduled and managed hundreds of multi-platform software package deployments, updates, and patches. Mentored junior team members and ensured 100% availability of all systems and remote connectivity/security.

Selected Achievements:

  • Drove holistic, full life-cycle delivery of complex technical projects, coordinating diverse team members while aggressively meeting project milestones, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Configure EIM/SSO user to access a Kerberos server to automatically authenticate and authorize themselves to use i5/OS applications without entering an OS/400 user profile and password.
  • Led multi-phase transformation and modernization of company’s IT and network infrastructure: modernize LAN/WAN connections to increasingly robust telecom technologies and subsequent optical connection to provider w/ DR backup.
  • Standardized and instituted systems, procedures, and plans enabling high availability of critical systems in private and open networks.
