  • Set up the infrastructure for all future OLAP cubes to be built in the new Microsoft environment.
  • Enable the data for cubing.
  • Give all cubes consistent, business friendly naming conventions, allow us to utilize larger fact tables to build more complex OLAP cubes, and drive more consistency across the organization in the presentation layer of the data.
  • This capability would enable there to be no need for "data extracts" from marts and create further mini-marts that sit on a personal drive or in shared drives. The Microsoft BI tools hook right into the cubes, so there is no need to write SQL to get the data summarized in the format needed to then pull into excel. It's all done in one place.
  • The new Microsoft BI tools integrate with share point which will enable the reports to be delivered to the multiple lines of business: Enrollment, Financial, Claims and Provider.
