Seeking a Senior .NET Business Intelligence Developer for a 100% remote opportunity.

The Applications Engineer is responsible for the selection, procurement, development, delivery, maintenance and support of all City’s corporate applications. This role is both hands on and strategic, delivering projects and solutions that are identified in the service desk applications catalogue, Change Requests database and strategic plans or roadmaps across City’s geographically and functionally diverse organization. Manages the local IT applications landscape and is the liaison for all business functions. Ensures professional support to the business and leads continuous improvement of IT applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define reporting requirements based on input from stakeholders.
• Translate business needs to technical specifications
• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) with clear objectives and consistent monitoring
• Understand client data and identify opportunities to improve data reporting.
• Able to develop tabular and multidimensional models
• Collaborate with teams to integrate data from multiple systems
• Design and development of tabular and/or visualization reports, dashboards for key project KPIs and data quality
• Develop and update technical documentation
• Create Dashboards and Reports with Power BI, SSRS and other reporting tools
• Ability to implement row level security on data and have an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI
• Ability to integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service (SaaS), or by API automation
• Develop, publish and schedule Power BI visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop per business needs/requirements
• Ability to optimize dashboard performance to handle large volumes of data
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
• Test report results, employing test plans and automated testing where possible.
• Writing T-SQL or other queries, understanding relational databases and data linking.
• Craft and execute ad hoc queries upon request for data
• Work with team to accurately forecast timing and efforts of work following Agile methodology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to communicate with business managers and end users

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science related field, or equivalent experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 5 years of experience in an analytical role with a heavy focus on querying data, analyzing and clearly presenting analyses to stakeholders across the organization.
• Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance

• Understanding of agile application development and software development life cycle concepts
• Experience in Microsoft Azure DevOps
• Report writing in one or all of the following
  • Power BI
  • SSRS
• Should have knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL data warehouse, Visual Studio etc.
• CRM Dashboards
• Previous experience on a data team in an agile environment.
• Experience with Microsoft D365 CE/Field Service platform and/or the D365 Finance & Operations platform including, the entity model and relationships
• Experience with Power BI preferred including proficiency in making DAX queries in Power BI desktop and Power BI dataflows
• Expertise in using advance level calculations/measures on the data set
