Seeking a Molecular-beam Epitaxy Laboratory Technician for an exciting new full-time permanent opportunity!

As a Molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE) Laboratory Technician you will be engaged in facility maintenance with experience troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, HV AC, refrigeration systems, clean rooms (Class 100 and Class 1000) and high vacuum systems. The primary duties will be to perform preventive maintenance and respond to trouble calls in assigned buildings.

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Technician or Equivalent.

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • MBE system maintenance (both as needed and preventative)
  • Develop vendor relationships
  • Identify areas of opportunity and establish plans or projects to improve equipment availability and functionality
  • Troubleshooting and repair of equipment
  • Monitoring MBE system during growth
  • Other tasks include, monitoring equipment performance, inventory control for spares and consumables, and generating/updating preventative maintenance documentation, including documenting best known methods, and lessons learned.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Minimum of 8/12 years’ experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of machinery, including hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, HV AC and refrigeration systems, and high vacuum systems.
  • Experience with HV or UHV systems
  • Expertise in machining and fabrication
  • Electronics experience (circuits, soldering, etc.)
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Knowledge of semiconductor equipment maintenance
  • Experience with Industrial controls
  • Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team
  • Organization prioritization, time management and planning skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering
