Seeking a Mammography Technologist for a position in Largo, Florida.
The mammographer is responsible for performing mammography exams at a technical level utilizing independent judgment to apply minimum radiation for complete radiographic diagnosis. This role will operate high tech mammography equipment without supervision.
Essential functions
- Perform mammography procedures with minimal supervision and skilled operation of equipment.
- Obtain patient history and consents and document appropriately.
- Utilize caution in administration of radiation with coning, lead shields, and minimal repeat rate.
- Assist in collection of information and corrective action necessary to maintain quality assurance standards.
- Ensure the supplies in the exam rooms/dressing booths while meet the patient needs.
- Perform mammography quality control daily/quarterly as needed by American College of Radiology (ACR)/Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines and standards.
- Report equipment malfunctions, patient problems, and supply needs to Department Manager.
Experience
- 0-1 year of related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience and education
Education
- High school diploma or GED + Completion of a two-year accredited Radiologic Technology program
Qualifications/Certificates
- License as general radiographer in the state of Florida and Radiology\AART(R)
- American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists
- Experience with Hologic equipment required.
- Experience with QC, ACR, MQSA required, required to work independently
- Bone Density experience preferred
