Seeking a Post-Acute Care APRN / ARNP with experience in psychiatric medicine (PMHNP) to join our expanding clinical team with locations in the Orlando / Tampa area.

This is a full-time permanent position opportunity.

This position is for an adult and geriatric behavioral health care practice. The experienced team of psychiatric and psychological specialists take a collaborative treatment approach in the delivery of post-acute and outpatient behavioral health care.

In this role our primary responsibility will be to deliver training and coaching to support our NP, PA and Psychologist Providers in attaining positive outcomes in balancing compassionate care delivery, patient outcomes with clinical effectiveness, and documentation-productivity efficiencies. Our psychiatric and psychological specialists take a collaborative treatment approach in the delivery of post-acute and outpatient behavioral health care.

As a secondary responsibility for this role you will provide direct care for intermittent assigned visits, and as-needed, back-up coverage or new site start-ups. Our care delivery is via mobile in-person care to patients/residents within the senior living community.

Education and Experience

  • Master of Science in Nursing.
  • Psychotropic medication management experience with patients suffering from Psychiatric and Psychological issues. Prefer some geriatric experience.

License Qualifications

  • Current valid FL license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse, APN.
  • Prefer Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Florida (PMHNP)
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Valid and current D.E.A. certification.
  • MSN-Psychiatric/Mental Health, Gerontological, Family or Adult Specialty, ANCC Certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric assessment/evaluations and develop evaluation reports.
  • Request any necessary laboratory studies on clients as determined by results of screening or assessment.
  • Initiate Baker Act involuntary treatment documents and facilitate admission to an appropriate inpatient facility when indicated.
  • Provide group therapy/medication management to clients taking psychiatric medications.
  • Be available (accessible) for consultation by telephone with staff regarding psychiatric condition and treatment of clients.
  • Discuss case with psychiatrist and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive client care plan.
  • Submit health care plan and goals of individual clients for periodic review and evaluation by physician.
  • Prescribe or recommend medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
  • Refer clients to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
