Seeking a Mainframe Cloud Migration Lead Developer for an 100% Remote position.

The Senior Mainframe Migration Consultant works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. This role works with international clients, designing and leading migration strategies customized to meet their specific business needs including application workloads, architecting scalable, highly available infrastructure, and optimizing the deployment of customer software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the technical assessment and delivery of specific technical solutions
• Provide technical consulting and advice to others on solution design, tuning and modification of solutions
• Collect and determine data from appropriate sources to assist in determining customer needs and requirements
• Engage in technical problem solving across multiple technologies; often need to develop new methods to apply to the situation
• Coach others in area of expertise
• Communicate with internal and external senior management confidently and demonstrates the professionalism of the job family
• Document requirements, use cases, system design and code
• Deliver within the scope of the project while protecting project profit margins

• An understanding of proprietary legacy data store migration to relational databases
• Experience replatforming mainframe and non-x86 legacy systems with new capabilities and to new environments

Education

• BA/BS in Information Systems or related area of study or equivalent work experience

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Proven experience in Mainframe Technology
• 7+ years of experience in mainframe migrations with detailed knowledge of the target environment (preferably Micro Focus Enterprise Server)
• 7+ years of experience in software development on IBM mainframes utilizing COBOL, JCL, Db2, VSAM, CICS, and/or IMS DB/DC/TM
• Familiarity with other aspects of the IBM z/OS environment (scheduling, printing, security, and integration technologies like MQ and FTP)
• Strong understanding of Cloud technologies
• Strong database development knowledge
• Experienced in unit testing, test-driven development, integration testing, and deployment using Azure DevOps or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Agile Development Methodologies

Travel Requirements

• Travel is dependent upon client assignments, but may be up to 30% monthly
