Seeking a Junior Java or C# Developer for a 100% Remote entry-level position based on out Jacksonville, Florida.

The Software Migration Specialist (SMS) is an entry level position for Factory mainframe conversions. The SMS works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. The SMS converts efforts of critical, industry-class, on-house, or commercial products as well as tooling for use in project work.

There is a program to provide growth opportunities for our entry level Factory SMEs to become experts with our tools and become project leads and team leads. Also our program allows for cross over to our R&D team for Java and C# coding on our Factory tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Interface with internal team members and clients to develop custom applications and/or enhancements to current product lines, resolve product issues, and lead one of the Factory Pods.
• The Factory SME will work our software stack for clients to perform mainframe refactors to C# or JAVA.
• Document requirements, use cases, system design and code
• Work on multiple concurrent projects to completion on-time and on-budget
• Work closely with team members and clients to achieve desired results
• Thrive in an environment of collaboration and change

Education and Experience

• Entry level experience of Development using cutting edge development tools in C# and/or Java
• Agile methodology for software development.
• A plus is any certifications in any of the following Azure technologies:
  • Azure Developer Associate
  • Windows (70-412, 70-740, 70-741, 70-742)
  • CompTIA Linux+
• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Entry level experience coding in C# and/or Java
  • Capable of coding, performing builds, and rollouts
  • Experience with algorithms and data structures
• Entry level experience to code using highly abstract design principles.
  • Exposure to or experience with third party development frameworks desired
  • The ability to learn new frameworks in a short period
• Working knowledge with object-oriented programming skills.
• Working knowledge of database development knowledge.
  • SQL development
  • Understanding of database concepts
  • Ability to create/maintain database objects
  • Query tuning
  • Database locking
• Experienced in unit testing, test-driven development, integration testing, and deployment using cloud technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Agile Development Methodologies.
• A plus is any understanding of Mainframe and Cloud technologies.
