Seeking an Echocardiograph Technician for a position in Largo, Florida.

Echo Technicians perform and monitor echocardiogram (cardiac ultrasound) procedures. They calculate, measure, and document appropriate values on the tests performed for review and interpretation by physicians. The Echo Technician will also communicate with physicians, managers, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical conditions while undergoing echocardiogram.

Essential functions

  • Patient Care
  • Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures.
  • Perform and process M-Mode, Two-dimensional, Color Flow and Doppler Echocardiograms; assists with Trans esophageal Echocardiograms.
  • Maintain proactive, effective communication with patient and radiologist regarding any findings patient histories and test results as appropriate.
  • Collaborate and confer with all colleagues and members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain, compile, calculate and prepare findings for physician interpretation and archiving and obtain high quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images.
  • Maintain proactive, effective communication with patient and radiologist regarding any findings patient histories and test results as appropriate. Collaborate and confer with all colleagues and members of the healthcare team.

Experience

  • 1+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience and education

Education

  • High school diploma or GED + Completion of a two-year accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience
  • AA, AS Degree or proof of equivalent college hours in health science, natural science, nursing or any other program with primary science content, or Cardiovascular Program.
  • Registry required with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS) or The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDCS)

Qualifications/Certificates

  • Minimum of one year in Adult Echocardiography preferred.
  • Current Ultrasound registry required.
  • Registry required within one year of hire date with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS) or The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDCS).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support provider approved by American Heart Association or obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work (i.e., travel to attend meetings, events, conferences) occasionally
