Seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for lead role. This is a 100% remote position working EST hours.
For this role the ideal candidate will have a background that includes Java development and is interested in working with incorporating new technologies.
Looking for motivated and talented individuals to fill the position of Senior DevOps Engineer. As a DevOps Engineer you will collaborate with Software Developers, Systems Engineers, and other IT staff members to develop CI/CD Pipeline capabilities. These responsibilities straddle the barriers that once existed between software development, testing and operations teams while keeping existing architectures in mind as you design, plan and implement the pipeline of the future.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
- Take a lead role in designing for the future while keeping advancements in technology and business in sight.
- Lead the effort to evolve CI/CD pipeline components; including source control and build activities
- Perform root cause analysis of software build & deployment issues
- Identify area where recurring issues exist and build automation to improve the customer experience
- Continuously collaborate with other teams across the enterprise to improve upon the CI/CD Pipeline while leveraging open source technologies whenever possible
- Participate in Agile activities including Kanban & Scrum
- Performs a broad range of complex technical or professional work activities, in a variety of contexts, selecting appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools and applications. Participates in external activities related to own specialism
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems/Technology or related major field of study.
- 5 or more years of prior Java Development experience
- Master's degree (preferred)
Knowledge and Skills
- Thorough knowledge of DevOps Concepts & Practices
- Experienced in developing DevOps solutions that address Public and Private Cloud solutions
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD Pipeline Technologies
- Continuous Integration (CI) (Git, Github Actions, Bamboo, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, Azure DevOps)
- Continuous Deliver (CD) (Spinnaker, ArgoCD, Helm)
- Experience developing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools such as Terraform & Packer
- Automation & Configuration Management solutions (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- Experience using and maintaining source control systems (GitHub Enterprise, Bitbucket)
- Knowledge of scripting tools and languages (Python, Groovy, Shell)
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (AKS, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift)
- Proven experience in software development (Go, Java, Angular, NodeJS)
- Thorough knowledge of Agile concepts and practices leveraging tools such as Jira & Confluence
- Experience administrating Linux architectures
- Good working knowledge of modern Network concepts
- Strong personal leadership skills: ability to work independently or collaboratively. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and build partnerships; willingness to engage team members and contribute to team goals.
- Ability to manage time effectively; ability to deliver in fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
