Seeking a Senior Accountant for a position in Fountain Valley, CA. This is a full-time permanent position. Hybrid position - on site a couple of days a week.

Working under minimal supervision, this position maintains and controls the General Ledger accounts and transactions of the organization, applying generally accepted accounting principles that include analytical work and thorough review of financial accounting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare journal entries and perform general account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements, fixed assets, salary and benefits, accruals and prepaid expenses.
  • Identify and analyze reconciling items between the general ledger and supporting details, and follows through on the clearing of these items.
  • Analyze reports detailing monthly expenses by cost center.
  • Analyzing complex financial reports and records.
  • Training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Prepare and track monthly freight and duty costs.
  • Assists in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budget.
  • Supports other functional areas by providing requested data, answering accounting questions, participating in cross functional teams and provides training as appropriate.
  • Seeks process improvements and problem resolution in all aspects of the job function.
  • Review and recommend modifications to the accounting systems and procedures.
  • Plan, assign and review staff’s work.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Special projects as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Accounting or related field
  • 5-6 years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • In-depth understanding of GAAP
