The Territory Manager (TM) will manage territory base business and growth by promoting, selling, and supporting diagnostic services to Veterinarians in the Chicago, Illinois.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct sales calls to promote, sell, and service existing and potential animal hospitals, veterinarians and staff.
- Implement quarterly sales plan to achieve sales goals and objectives.
- Provide product and lab diagnostic support and service, including consultation at staff in-services and veterinarian seminars.
- Identifies customer needs for additional products and services and provides customers the best solution to their current practice needs.
- Fiscally manage territory by controlling expenses, contract and new business activity.
- Build and maintain relationships with referral sources to establish a solid base of new business opportunities.
- Researches customers prior to site visits to obtain information and insight to anticipate issues and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Assist in establishing the company as the leader in animal lab diagnostics services and veterinary practice solutions.
- Coordinate daily support activities and customer activities at meetings as assigned.
- Complete administrative duties as required.
- Identify, target and acquire new business opportunities.
- Negotiate and implement contractual relationships.
- Utilize approved sales collateral to support promotional and territorial needs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and internal resources to co-promote additional services and products.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree (Animal Health, Biological Sciences, Lab Sciences or Business-related field)
- 3+ years of outside field sales experience
- Demonstrable success in previous employment indicated by high level of sales performance with a track record of prospecting, pre-call planning and closing deals.
- Ability to close new business within a short sales cycles
- Ability to execute sales strategies in a complex, multi-faceted environment
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Ability to differentiate core layers of business to separate diagnostics from competitors
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills; team oriented; conceptual/consultative sales skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office

- Must possess strong logic and reasoning skills
- Must have the ability to plan for, prioritize and execute multiple recurring and ad hoc tasks

- Must have the ability to work well under time constraints
- Must have the ability to take own initiative and work independently.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel, in person and on the phone
- Must have flexible and adaptable attitude to cope with fast changing and complex environment
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use confidential information appropriately
- Must be able to organize and schedule work effectively and effectively adapt to changing priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and strong typing ability
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous sales experience in a service industry, preferably in Animal Healthcare, Human Healthcare, Pharmaceutical Sales or Capital Equipment
- Previous sales award recipient due to strong sales performance (i.e. President’s Club, Rookie of the Year).
- Strong data analysis, evaluation and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of Diagnostic Services
