The Assistant Merchant is responsible for assisting with the development of merchandise assortments and with all aspects of planning and execution of the assortment. This role supports the strategy, product development, and execution of vision to drive growth in the specified area.

Responsibilities

• Support Merchant/Associate merchant in day-to-day operational tasks
• Drive accuracy of product details through excellent execution & management of all systems and tools
• Act as cross-departmental liaison, creating a consistent flow of communication throughout the organization
• Prepare and distribute weekly sales reports, provide analyses to Merchant or Associate Merchant, and participate in business meetings
• Assist in key meeting preparation with samples, deck preparation, analysis, and ad hoc requests
• Conduct competitive analysis in order to understand current trends and influence product strategy
• Own photo shoot process with support from the Merch Coordinator ensuring timely handoff of samples & shot lists to Marketing
• Develop and fosters a teamwork atmosphere and encourage positive morale

• The understanding and ability to read and interpret reports concerning margins, mark-up, sales data, and other merchant-based data, drawing valid conclusions
• Have an eye for fashion and interpret trend information as it pertains to the brand.
• Computer literacy and the ability to utilize business programs as needed to conduct business. Includes but is not limited to PowerPoint, Excel, Digistyle, Qlik, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
• Must be willing to relocate to Jacksonville, FL, and flexible to work onsite 4x a week.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in Merchandising or Buying
