Seeking a Manager of People and Culture for an exciting opportunity at a rapidly growing eCommerce company in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a hybrid role.

The Human Resources Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function. Responsible for the strategic human resources planning and positioning the company as the employer of choice by being aware of industry policies, practices, and trends. Strong technical skills, strategic planner, analytical ability, good judgement, and strong operational focus.

Key areas of focus include benefits, employee relations, compensation and recruiting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Benefits, Compensation, Consulting, Diversity, Employee Relations.
  • Organizational and Employee Development, Staffing Management, Training, and Development.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization’s compliance.
  • Follows the Mission, Vision, and Values of the company.
  • Deliver HR Strategies and practices in response to ever-changing needs.
  • Trusted advisor directly involved in all areas of Human Resources and delivers exceptional
  • services and support, recruit, grow and retain the best employees.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations to Management for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
  • Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Communicates changes in the organization’s personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
  • Coordinates and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  • Maintains a human resource information system (HRIS).
  • Supervises the staff of the Human Resource Department and Administrative Assistant.
  • Plans, organizes, and executes company events including but not limited to employee benefits fair, insurance meetings, open enrollment, etc.
  • Confirms compliance of HR Administrator with applicants for the pre-employment process and new hire orientations Supervises HR Administrator in administering training programs.
  • Reviews and updates all job descriptions.
  • Answers any questions and/or requests from governmental agencies, including employee complaints, represent the company at hearings and mediation, and serves as the EEO Specialist.
  • Directs benefits administration, enrollment, and open enrollment meetings.
  • Obtains bids upon renewal, confers with management regarding benefit costs, makes recommendations, and performs open enrollment and benefits meetings.
  • Finalizes all HR internal audits and approves necessary adjustments.
  • Conducts needs assessment, develops training curriculum, and conducts training sessions on various HR topics. Conducts orientation programs.
  • Handles all matters with strict confidence.
  • Other tasks, duties, and projects as requested.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and planning skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Focus on outstanding customer service and building relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet departmental goals in a fast-paced, highly competitive environment with a focus on customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and be a self-starter who works with integrity.
  • Must be able to function with minimal supervision and be able to prioritize all work tasks.
  • Ability to maintain composure when facing change or working under pressure.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred, in Human Resources or directly related field.
  • PHR/SPHR and/or SHM-CP/SCP preferred.
  • 5+ years of HR experience.
  • 2+ years in a management role.
