Hiring a Director of Manufacturing Operations to assist in Medical Equipment Manufacturing Operations. This position is on-site in Melbourne, FL.

The Director of Operations is responsible for owning the manufacturing operations of the Melbourne facility including oversight of all areas of Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Service, and Supply Chain; ensuring approved products are manufactured on-schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. This position drives the facility to exceed site and business unit goals in alignment with operation’s strategic and annual operating plans.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Organizational Leadership

  • Provide operational site leadership and establish goals and priorities consistent with business objectives and client expectations.
  • Develop strategic plans (Business Plan deployment; Hoshin Kanri) for Operations and implement according to Lean Manufacturing principles to maximize efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Formulate policies and programs to guide the organization in improving its competitive position and profitability of the operation.
  • Develop and Implement Key Performance Indicators to measure Operations effectiveness and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  • Hire, train, develop, and continuously monitor staff performance to ensure effectiveness of operating unit.
  • Initiate and coordinate major projects (facility layout changes, capital equipment installations, product cost & quality improvement analysis, etc.) to improve efficiency of processes and quality of products.

Manufacture and Service of Products

  • Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures to ensure that products conform to established company quality standards.
  • Develop processes and systems for Manufacturing Operations according to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, OSHA, and ANSI requirements.

Supply Chain Management

  • Develop supply chain strategy that supports company performance objectives and customer expectations in alignment with the Medical Supply Chain Leader.
  • Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, and optimize customer service.
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Advanced Lean Manufacturing, TPS, Six Sigma, and/or Supply Chain Management implementation experience.
  • Strong leadership ability with the capability to engage diverse resources, understand the impact of changes and decisions, facilitate agreement, build collaborative relationships and focus on customer needs
  • Ability to partner with and influence key team members including Finance, HR, R&D, Product Management, and Commercial teams.
  • Familiar with IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485.
  • Self manage and embody company cultural competencies of Results Focused, Managing Change, Developing Effective Teams, Collaborating, Innovating, and Strategic Thinking.
  • Outstanding people leadership skills.

Academic/Career Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Engineering - Industrial, Mechanical, or Supply Chain.
  • 10+ years of direct Manufacturing, Service, or Supply Chain Management experience.
  • Senior Operations leadership in a manufacturing environment.
