Hiring a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for an exciting opportunity at a rapidly growing eCommerce / retail company in Jacksonville, Florida.
About the position
This is for a well-known apparel company that is seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Financial Officer. Reporting to the President, the CFO will be directly involved in providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making within the company and will lead a finance team responsible for Accounting, Budgeting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Capital Management, and Risk Management. The CFO will enhance and/or develop, implement, and enact policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation, effectiveness, and financial condition of the company.
As CFO you will be a member of the executive leadership driving the company's financial planning. Ideal candidates will have strong eCommerce / retail experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the financial and risk management operations including development of financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
- Strong track record of successfully leading finance and company transformation initiatives to drive sustainable profitability including but not limited to rebuilding and streamlining processes, accurate financial planning (long-range planning, budgeting and forecasting), and instilling rigor and financial best practices across the company.
- Develop a dependable cash flow projection process and working capital model with a robust reporting mechanism that includes a minimum cash threshold to meet the operating needs of the company and cashflow planning.
- Analyze overhead expenditures to drive scale and efficiency throughout the organization.
- Direct and optimize the organizations’ fiscal function including capital expenditures, cash projection, and cash management.
- Facilitate the optimization of the company’s accounting software system, by providing the appropriate information regarding estimating, traffic, profit and loss, revenue and account summary reporting and expenditure management.
- Lead all accounting, reporting, finance, costing, treasury, call center, operations, risk management, tax, and other functions alongside peers. Support operations of the business, advising on the most effective opportunities for sustainable profitability.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Satisfy all regulatory and tax compliance filings and reports, while working to minimize taxes
- Preparation of annual organization budget as well as individual budgets; coordinate all department budgets, work with all department heads throughout the year to ensure that expenditures adhere to legal and budgetary requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience developing & executing successful financial management in positions with increasing responsibility preferably in a high transaction volume business that has sales in excess of $250 million
- Knowledge of GAAP- Familiarity work under the generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience conducting month-end and year-end close, cost allocation, revenue recognition, budget creation and management, and cash management
- Experience implementing process improvement initiatives to drive a change in company finances, culture, and sales with the goal of developing a strong financially stable organization.
- Must be a change agent with the ability to collaborate, influence and challenge at all levels, front-line employees and senior leadership
- Strong ability to drive results
- Possess an agile mindset to support flexibility and change within the organization.
- Understands how to leverage technology to target, segment, and analyze relevant data.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to extract meaning from numbers and present analysis clearly and concisely to people with widely varying degrees of financial knowledge
- Knowledge of sales forecasting
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or technical field required. MBA or advanced degree, and/or CPA strongly preferred. The final candidate will have had successful experience with financial and operational transformations.
