Summary

  • During my career I have witnessed at least two financial calamities in the dot-com bust and the financial & mortgage foreclosure crises of 2008-2009. I’ve also keenly observed the deployment and enterprise adoption of information technology, along with blockchain, cryptocurrency, and distributed ledger technologies whose public and private manifestations have proven attractive targets for financial-cyber criminals and money launderers. In this brief period, the financial industry has been reshaped and business models have adapted to the new financial technology paradigm.
  • My most recent experience centers around issues impacting new distributed ledger technologies. I have advised and consulted with numerous high-profile startups and small businesses in the financial technology space; wherein I became expert in cybersecurity risk mitigation, regulatory analysis and reporting, implementation of compliance programs, and communicating mission critical technical and legal information across functional groups.
  • My blend of private and public experience lends to my perspective on the tradeoffs and considerations organizations must evaluate with respect to securing large-scale financial technology systems and the attendant regulatory & reporting requirements in the event of a breach. I look forward to collaborating on these issues with like-minded colleagues at Deutsche Bank.
