Responsible for the leadership of multiple application development teams supporting systems for Customer Operations, Customer Service and the Safety departments. These mission-critical systems, that spanned multiple platforms including OS/390, Unix and Windows, were required for the efficient and effective operation of trains at the local level, to provide tools for customer orders and shipment tracking, and to support field safety training and safety incident reporting. The systems were developed using COBOL, C, PowerBuilder, C#, Java and HTML and utilized IMS, DB2 and Oracle databases. Additional responsibilities included oversight for comprehensive Safety training for the Technology department, participation in capital and OE planning, implementation of an enterprise learning system TrainingTrax, and expanded vendor management.
