Primary responsibility is to provide leadership and technical oversight for the System Engineering, AIX Administration and Epic Client System Teams. Deliver final technical design, cost analysis, and recommendations for all infrastructure projects and operating activities to the Director of Network Services. As well as ensure that all infrastructure solutions were architected to perform optimally, cohesively with the various technologies in place, and efficiently to ensure we get true value out of the technology purchases we make.
As manager, I am responsible for identifying and developing talent within the team, providing opportunities for learning and growth as well as communicating job expectations, coaching, counseling, and enforcing policies and procedures, technical direction and guidance: assist with technical obstacles and identify when the resolution plan needs to change to ensure optimal efficiency.
Providing customer service to ensure my teams are delivering exceptional service at all times, this includes working face to face with clients (support staff, other technical teams) through client meetings and providing day-to-day service delivery.
Prioritization and team scheduling: continually monitor the team work load and MIS needs; proactively identify potential problems, set daily/weekly schedules, timelines and service accordingly; scheduling/resource management to ensure company needs are met efficiently
Review performance metrics, time sheets and ticket health of team members.

- EHR migration from Nextgen to Epic, which required bringing in several new technologies to our infrastructure and running parallel production environments during the transition with zero infrastructure “incidents”, reported at Go-Live.
- Disaster Recovery initiative to provide 100% service availability from our DR location it the Doral HQ facility
- Achieved 5x9s service availability across all areas 5 of the last 7yrs.
- Delivered 3yr “Optimized Server Virtualization” strategy and completed solution implementation
within 3 weeks. Benefits include:

- Delivered “Server Consolidation” strategy that could result in the reduction of 45-60 Windows

- Spearheaded 3yr strategic road maps instrumental in executive team planning for IT infrastructure that clearly communicated risk surrounding replacement needs for end-of-life infrastructures.

- HIPAA / Meaningful Use Audit & Risk Analysis (45 CFR Part 160 and Subparts A & C of Part
- 164) to comply with MU Stage 1 validation. Used the more explicit NIST 800-30 standard, as
- internal reference during remediation project for areas deemed non-compliant with the HIPAA
Security Rule.

- In March 2016, PricewaterhouseCoopers was engaged by Leon Medical centers to perform a
- complete audit & assessment of the entire IT organization. Our executive management team
- advised me that my department (Systems Engineering) was the only technology team in the LMC
- IT organization to receive a rating of “mature” by the PricewaterhouseCoopers consultant team.
- Provided office productivity internal “cloud” strategy leveraging Microsoft Sharepoint (or Alfresco) that would result in a 3yr $225k+ savings on Microsoft Office licensing while also building the framework for internal document management and digitalization of up to 85% of the internal administrative processes.
