Began employment as a computer operator and was eventually promoted to Computer Operations Supervisor in 2004. After the department expanded to three computer operators, my responsibilities were increased to include all Operations training. I created a document of all tasks for the Operations staff to use as a checklist of all things that must be completed on a daily basis. Additionally, I created software installation instructions for help desk and IT staff to utilize. I also collaborated with various departments throughout the company to implement processes that improve company systems and software tools and provide necessary solutions to resolve problems and issues. I also reviewed and tested all software written by the programming staff in CL and ILE/RPG. I have written several SQL programs that were creating reports via tab delimited files that were imported to Excel.
I currently manage all aspects of a medium-sized relational database on an IBM AS400/I-Series midrange system running AS400/I5 OS. I am responsible for supervising operation staff’s daily work production. Additionally, responsibilities include all aspects of daily computer operations, which include imports and exports from clients, processing of all files in compliance with our individual client’s standards, and all ad hoc reports. I am also responsible for the resolution of error messages on the system console as well as program error messages including job log research and source code analysis. Query 400 and SQL programming are extensively utilized to streamline processes that produce reports that have enhanced accuracy and are easier to read in Excel. I created a library on the AS400, for data files, that enables us to create query reports to be written to tab delimited files and imported to Excel for management analysis requests. Responsibilities also include production, performance, and training of operations staff, maintenance of Windows Servers, andmaintenance and repairs of all PC’s hardware and software. All PC’s are Windows XP Pro or Windows 7. In addition, programming staff has me test programs prior to the program being placed into production.
