  • Once that was completed a proposal outlining a course of action to correct these problems was presented to the IT manager.
  • Assigned to was a custom reporting module which plugged into an existing SalesLogix application. This web based application was developed in .NET C# using a SQL Server database.
  • The system allowed users to select various parameters based on their security level, executed business rules and generated reports showing actual and potential sales leads/contacts and revenue amounts.
  • The resulting data was displayed in a drill down fashion allowing the user view the data at varying levels of summation.

This application used a color-coded map of the rail and bus lines. Each color indicated a different status condition. Also, each stop when clicked would bring up a data entry screen to allow the user to update the information for that stop. Some of the information tracked was the name of the contractor who serviced the stop, date and time of service, status and comments. The system also allowed for generation of reports for use by management. This application was developed using VB, ADO and MS ACCESS. Graphics were created using Photoshop 6.0.

Lead Developer Fulfilled multiple roles in all phases of software development in IT department. Business Analyst. Responsibilities included: Review of legacy systems in an effort to redesign and implement an updated and enhanced system. The purpose of the system was to take data feeds from pharmacies and filter it based on a set of business rules. The resultant dataset was used by the call center and mail center to contact potential clients for enrollment in the Pharmacy Mail program. The legacy system was comprised of SAS, COBOL and used fixed-width text files for data imports and exports. The new system utilized VB 6 and Teradata data warehouse. The legacy system was not documented and the client had no formal software development cycle methodology in place. As a result, the existing code base was reviewed in an effort to establish the business processes required by the system. Once completed, the processes were reviewed with management to ensure their accuracy as well as incorporate any changes or enhancements to the process. This information was used to draft the Technical and Functional Specification documents, GUI requirements and a Visio diagram outlining the process flow in UML format. The project plan was developed indicating the project timeline, milestones and deliverables. Participated in weekly IT department status meeting to discuss project status. Senior Developer: Designed and developed the new system in Visual Basic/Teradata. The system was comprised of a GUI interface which allowed the user to initiate the process, perform table maintenance, generate reports and a Teradata RDBMS system for data storage.

The core requirements for the client were to automate manual processes as well as add eCommerce capabilities. Special attention was given to the GUI design as the site was being used by and international audience with varying degrees of computer skills. Providing a positive experience was crucial. When completed the site allowed customers to reserve and make payments for various camping sessions, contained and online store for the purchase of customer wares and a maintenance section that allowed the client to update the data and generate management reports. Used Crystal Reports to provide reporting capabilities for all aforementioned applications. Creation of an intuitive user interface that closely simulated the manual paper system was crucial. Worked closely with end-users and management to ensure that the GUI design met this requirement. Extensive use of third party Visual Basic tools. Used Robo Help to generate windows help files. Developed departmental intranet site, which was used to display departmental news, ongoing projects and personnel. Currently prototyping distributed applications in an internet environment in preparation for internet migration. Assisted in the development of agency's (Judge Technical Services) internet site using IIS 3.0 on Windows NT 4.0. Functionality included providing the user with the ability to submit requests for personnel as well as enter multiple parameters to query the database of job openings online. This was accomplished by using VB CGI scripts, Internet Database Connectivity and JavaScript, Microsoft Visual InterDev, ActiveX controls, Active Server Pages with VB Script.
