Work was on multiple short and long term projects. I worked mostly with the Reservation, Accounting and Revenue Management application software. Member of the application team for the Pricing and Promotion Project as well as Global Payments and Department of Transportation mandated updates for handicapped accessibility. Duties included attendance of daily and weekly meetings for assigned projects, perform code review for team members, participate in monthly scheduled migrations, as well as duty phone coverage on a rotating schedule.

Assist in the development, testing, automation, documentation and implementation of procedures that pertains to group profiles, system backup and recovery processes as well as administration and operation of the hardware and software environment.

Handled the national Allstate Giving Campaign, as well as working with a team to streamline their E-Pledge process. The Charitable Pledge Processor position was responsible for all accounting processes used to pay out the pledges quarterly as well as for special events and one time donations all done on the AS/400. It dealt with payroll deductions from a number of different groups as well as credit card processing. The Contract Programmer-Analyst position works with a UWSHR 10 man team to automate the upload function across multiple platform packages and into the AS/400 for accounting purposes. UWSHR runs numerous charitable campaigns around the country and are moving to a single front end process on the web. The Pledge Processor position allowed me an excellent position to assure that all procedures, both automated and manual, are accounted for and were covered when designing the new automated interfaces. The use of proper AS/400 job scheduling and job queues was required to feed the new interfaces smoothly with the current operational processes and back-ups.

The client list includes but was not limited to C. Lloyd Johnson Co., Inc. Conducted classes for Extol’s Integrator EDI software package held at CLJ. Instruction in setting up and maintaining new EDI Trading Partners, security, SSL AS2 connections, and document mapping were held on the AS/400 version of the software. For Icelandic USA, the contract was for FTP transmission setup to a logistics company used as well as updating the current shipping systems to the activity. At Volvo Penta, I helped re-structure their disaster recovery process, as well as revisiting how they had operations processing jobs and utilizing Job Scheduling on the AS/400. My last extensive contract was with United Way of South Hampton Roads and was completed in February, 2010. The contract was for a conversion where we loaded a CRM server based solution with one of the antiquated AS/400 packages.

The position required one to evaluate, plan, develop, test, implement, and manage new development and systems modifications, dealing primarily with multiple Distribution Centers, logistics, and EDI on the AS/400. This included all documentation, any user training needed as well as any operational considerations that needed to be address such as back-ups, printer/hardware setups, and user profile changes. Rotating on-call was split between four analysts to cover all possible operation problems to support the 280 plus locations that consisted of warehouses and public stores.

During employment, this position was solely responsible for the smooth transition from GENTRAN to EXTOL’s EDI software while running a 24-7 EDI processing schedule with the US military that we served around the world. In charge of selection and installation of new AS/400 computer hardware and software solutions, while upgrading phone system and configuring LAN’s for both office and manufacturing requirements. Held point position on planning and installation of manufacturing modules and shop floor control, including bar coding of all documents and feeding specifications to manufacturing equipment. Installed and trained personnel on eight MAPICS modules as well as introducing Lotus Notes to staff. Position was responsible for around-the-clock support. Servicing on-call problems for the manufacturing floor that ran a 24-7 production schedule was of high visibility and critical to corporate.
