In this job I had three separate and distinct job roles, facilities manager, MIS manager, and IT manager.
As facilities manager I managed one direct report and fifteen indirect reports. This portion of the job entailed managing mail processing, file room, and building security. I was responsible for contract negotiation, vendor management, procurement, building maintenance, and disaster recovery planning (DRP). This was a 40,000 square foot facility with in excess of 300 employees. As the MIS manager I had three direct reports that were DBA’s. I was responsible for all financial reporting, operational reporting, process management, process mapping, workflow analysis, and task automation. As IT manager I was responsible for all aspects of IT and telecommunications. This included, but was not limited to the following: file and print servers, LAN support, WAN support, desktop support, telephony support, vendor management, IT procurement, contract negotiation. I had a staff of two technicians supporting 300 plus users. I was also responsible for developing and writing an acceptable use policy, HR policies and guidelines relating to the use of technology. I developed and wrote the company security audit procedures that was validated by in house counsel, as well as our clients various auditing agencies.
