• Performed the majority of research and analysis for this retail chain's existing global order management system in the anticipation of replacing it with newer technology. Many integral functions and business requirements were discovered and documented for this client. IMS DB2 Shop with Microsoft Access was used for reporting the findings.

• Programmed general Ledger applications using COBOL II and DB2.
• Constructed general ledger reports for balance sheet, income, and expense trees using PeopleSoft tables. Led other team members through the construction process with technical direction.

• Modified IMS DB/DC Transform and Telon programs to use DB2 tables in place of IMS database calls.
• Constructed unit and system test plans for the successful implementation of their entire inventory warehouse systems.

• Designed and programmed tools and synchronization programs to convert a large item inventory system from IMS database to DB2. The sync programs allowed all of the existing applications to process transactions normally without actually modifying the code. Performed application tuning for IMS programs. Reviewed all SSA's, IMS calls and restore/recovery procedures for safety and accuracy. Modified PCB masks for better efficiency. Set up new PSB's and PCB's for application programmers.
• Wrote SQL to replace IMS in application programs. Performed DB2 tuning and evaluation tasks. ForSuperSolutions:

• Led the project team to the successful completion of a large automated Hospital Claims Pricing system. The system is used to insure that providers are charging reasonable fees for services performed.
• Data modeling and 4GL techniques were employed with Ingres 6.3. Developed and documented OOA and OOD procedures using Westmount (ISEE - IEW)

• Developed a Customer Follow up and Tickler File system. This is a date triggered follow up system designed to inform service representatives of upcoming customer service functions. Native IDMS was used as the primary database.
• Developed a Remote Payment Processing system. This project facilitated the printing of payment receipts at various remote locations. CICS Transient Data concepts were used to initiate the printing of customer receipts at the correct customer service locations. Various online screens were developed for processing the payments with Command Level Cobol and VSAM.
• Converted the above project to CSP/DB2 as a pilot project. Required to perform all the company coordination for CSP and DB2, as this was the first CSP project for this company.
• Programmed a large Meter Deposit Management system using CSP/DB2 as a sub system to this utilities Customer Information system. The system used a wide variety of interrelated DB2 tables and functionally complex online CSP screens. Was required to write many CICS to CSP interface modules (CSP/DB2 with CICS and VSAM).
• Performed all duties as database administrator including design and programmer training.

• Chart of Accounts conversion from Solar in house accounts to MSA account formats. Wrote modules to convert Cobol source programs to the new account structure of MSA.
• Also modified their online forecasting system by converting them to the new MSA account format and changed the logic to improve the performance of the system (Cobol, CICS, DLI and VSAM).

• Installed a large investment management and accounting package called PRISM from Information Systems of America (ISA). The system was comprised of many online CICS and batch modules utilizing a complex VSAM database structure.
• Was additionally required to make many User modifications to both the online and batch portions of the package. Prepared all production procedures and scheduling processing.
• Worked closely with investment accounting Users to design new reporting requirements for this package. Supported the tax department with IRS and State reporting requirements.
• Supported year end tax reporting. Made many modifications and supported their old investment accounting system while the new one was being phased in (Command Level CICS, VSAM).

• Performed the systems analysis, programming, implementation and project leadership to develop an online Customer Information query, update and batch transaction generator as a front end to a large Customer Information Control System (Tres Systems). Worked directly with the User staff and Information Systems personnel to complete this project within schedule and budget. The system was written using Macro Level CICS with BAL and Total files.
• Designed and programmed an online Summary Billing System to control the combined billing of companies with subsidiaries or affiliates. VSAM files, Journal Control and Command Level CICS with COBOL was utilized.
• Programmed and implemented a Remote Cash Deposit system utilizing remote bill stub reader machines. Developed Debit/Credit logic to process transactions that were downgraded to CICS from the readers.
• Converted some of their very old and large Macro Level CICS assembler programs to Command Level CICS Cobol. These were the front - end modules to their entire CICS online system.
